Hi all

I am looking to get myself a cheapish (£300) commuter/entry road bike. It needs to be mudguard compatible and also take a pannier rack. I have seen this on Ebay and was wondering what people thought?
Viking San Marino

I cannot find much info on this bike and wouldn't normally go for something like this on Ebay for fear of picking up a BSO but it is from Rutland Cycles who have a good reputation so thought it might be worth it, what do you all think?

Thanks

Jon

A pal of mine racks up 100 mile days up and down the biggest hills on a triple chainset equipped basic Viking bike and it's fine really, he's no slower than any of the carbon-boys in our group.

Bu the bike above has kinda old-school gearing set-up which will be a bit of a grunt over rolling terrain.

A better bet may be this:

Again, another of our group has a basic Decathlon and it's really very good quality for the money.
Much more flexible gearing. Cromo fork will be more comfortable than Hi-Ten steel of the Viking.
Probably won't take full mudguards, you'll need to check. Otherwise, Race-blades or Crudguard 2s are a useful alternative.
