Vibration/Rattle?

Got my new bike the other day (Thorn Audax Mk3 - picture can be seen on the photo section).
Went out on it yesterday and there is a noise coming from the front end somewhere. At first I thought there was something loose but this does not appear to be the case.
The noise resembles a rattle/vibration and only occurs when I shift position on the bars i.e. from brake levers to bars etc, in other words when weight is shifted across the front end.

I am most puzzled by this. I have checked all I can think about and cannot find anything loose or unattached. The noise is almost like a resonance but only happens when weight is shifted across the front end.
The bike has mudguards but all bolts are tight.

Has anyone had a similar experience or can you shed light on this please?

I expect it's all those spacers rattling.

Since it's a new bike, you might as well take it back to the shop. Rattles and squeaks can be very difficult to pinpoint in my experience.

Thanks guys.
Slight problem taking it back. The bike is from Somerset and I live in Cheshire.

Ok check every bolt, nut, screw... on the front end do not just touch them. Then pull the front brake and rock the bike back and forth holding the top part of the headset and then move your hand down to the bottom part of the headset and see if there is movement?

Phone St John's Street and tell them:-

"There's a vibration which feels like its coming from the front, and I can't trace it. Where is you service agent in Cheshire?"

When they say "We haven't got a service agent in Cheshire", reply "Come and get it then!"

If it is cables tapping on the head tube, self adhesive 'carbon fibre' effect sticky pads from LBS.

Before now, I have used pieces out of my kid's Fuzzy Felt set and glued them on with contact adhesive. Ahhh,,, silence.

Widnes in sunny Cheshire.

Greetings from sunny Prescot (I wish)

I get a "buzz" type noise from the ergo's on my winter bike when I am not riding on the hoods, when my hands are on the hoods it stops. I've decided it has something to do with cable inners/outers/routing/ergo's and just live with it.

My other bike has rattly ergo levers, the inner lever rattles on the brake lever on rough surfaces.

Campag Xenon....occasionally you get a buzz / rattle from the levers. Put your fingers on them...it goes away.
