Well, here's an odd one!
My pub bike ( a subway 1) has recently decided to vibrate in the highest gear (7 speed).
8 months ago I treated it to a new BB, crank, cassette and chain.
It has behaved perfectly ever since with smooth and slick gear changes.
About a week ago it started making odd noises. Then it started to show signs of vibration that I was initially convinced that it was the BB as I was feeling it in the front of the bike..
On the stand, in the highest gear, it shows signs of a mis-matched chain but as the speed increases, the chain vibrates at a ridiculous rate.
Things I've already checked:
Pulled off the chain and went through every link.
Pulled off the cranks and BB is smooth as silk
Put on a different crank, problem still there
checked and tightened cassette
checked wheel alignment/bearings.
I'm now running out of ideas.
Can any wise or knowledgeable person out there give me some idea of where to look next?
