The business.

Here's a website route planner that knows the cycle lanes, tracks and shared paths.

Hope it works for you.

If the link does, the route takes me from Solihull centre, through the park along a shared path, onto the quiet stretch of the Old Warwick Road, across the M42 via the shared footbridge and along the cycle lane on the Warwick Road to Knowle.

Just shout "SEEN IT" if I'm blatantly behind time...

Looks handy but I got this...
At the moment we are able to plan cycle journeys in a limited number of areas. To find out which areas are currently available please go to the FAQ on cycle planning.

I hope my area becomes one of the limited number soon, as that looks useful.

Nice website Jimboalee, I'll be cycling around your way within the month, I'm relocating to Kenilworth so it's a nice site to get my road knowledge up to scratch for routes etc.

Tried another. Solihull to West Bromwich. That's a toughie in my book.

Bingo. Takes the residential streets to the Grand Union Canal. Tow path to Small Heath dodging the hills on the Warwick Rd. Through the backstreets of Sparkbrook and Highgate, back on the tow path. Then across to the shared path that runs alongside the Midland Metro tram route.

Bang on.

I asked for Solihull to Wolverhampton to see how much of the canal network is used. A fair bit.

I created a .gpx and uploaded it to Mapsource. There's 900 Viapoints.... .

So much for that...

If you think I'm going to go sorting through hundreds of Viapoints, I'm not.
