Veloflex tyres? Or other tanwall options

I'm gonna rock the gumwall look on my new bike and these Veloflex Master look the business. I like that the company was started by former Vittoria workers when their jobs moved to China. Anyone experienced them or have alternative tan/amber/gumwall suggestions?

Veloflex Masters all the way.

I think they are the old Pave tyres re-branded.

If so they are quite hard wearing compared to their stablemates ( ie they will still wear quicker than most other tyres) but have no puncture protection.

I gave up on them due to the wear and punctures but still miss the noise and feel they gave.

Thanks. :okay: I like the sound of the noise and feel.
I've got my hands on a beautiful early-90s frame, getting some wheels built up and want to treat it for a bit so I'm not worrying too much about practical stuff like punctures at the mo'.

Hmmm, was speaking to a Good mechanic yesterday who said his old shop got a job lot of veloflex masters one time and he ended up fitting them to about 50 bikes.
He all but warned me against buying as he said they were a bugger to fit to almost all rims, would break park tyre levers and wouldn't stand up to local roads. This has given me pause for thought!
Any other decent options for me to consider? Prob 23s.but poss 25s. Would sacrifice some puncture resistance for performance. Need to know by end of afternoon. Not along for much am i?

Meh, I've bottled out and gone for paselas. I'm slightly disappointed in myself.

Well I tried the pasela panaracers in 23 for a couple of months and after I think six punctures including the last which totalled the rear thus requiring an emergency boot I've gone for something else.
Clement Strada LGG in 25s

Initial impressions...I think they look nice with more tan showing than the pasela 23s and a retro-ish logo, slipped on the TB14 rims easy, look to have good puncture protection and give a smooth, fast ride with good grip at least in the dry.

Have had some of these (all black ones)since last summer and they have been great, not as nice as open paves but are a bit longer lasting.
Those tan ones would look nice on my ss but 25's won't fit on the old Mavic ma2's.
