Velcro straps

I am after a couple of cheap velcro straps to attach a torch to my helmet for a bit off night time off-roading. Where is the best place to get some from?

E-Bay is your friend. Heaps of suppliers on there.

Velcro is a pain as it lacks the elasticity, cable ties can damage the helmet foam liner.

I use thinner black elsatic shock cord like you get in fleeces and jackets and cord locks.

Thanks cybernight, just ordered some. I intend to wrap the torch in some old inner tube and strap it to my helmet.

Blimey, it never occurred to me you could buy these things - the 'sewing' stall in Kendal indoor market has 1.5cm wide velcro in various colours for about 50p a metre


And black circular elastic (as opposed to flat 'knicker' elastic ) for about 20p a metre
