I bought a cheap wireless one about a year ago. I've had to replace it because the button that toggles through the readings does not return properly and it scrubs my trip readings if I dare touch it on the road.

Yup - good bit of kit and, when the head unit started playing up in the first year, replaced without quibble.
Another advantage is that, unlike some cheap wireless units, it doesn't get spurious readings from railway electric lines, temp traffic lights and other things which tell my other 'puter that my maximum speed has been 98.4kph. I've not been that quick yet ... ;)

I've found VDO units to be excellent - logical button presses, clear displays and reliable. I have an old wireless model, the A8+, which has worked perfectly over thousands of miles. I also have a newer model - the wired M1. The latter is very basic, but a model of clarity and great one-button design.
