my fixed restoration project got my local lbs bloke telling me to "stick it on ebay, you'll get a grand".

i've no interest in selling it, but it may be an insurance issue if it's worth more than £500.

is there some site that might give me an idea, or is anyone on here sufficiently skilled in this area to give me a ballpark figure?

i suppose i could put it on ebay with a huge reserve price, but i don't want to risk having to sell it…

cheers in advance ;)

There is a very serious market for old bikes and parts, but i wouldn't believe you can easily value anything by just saying its old - it must be worth lots.!

Generally speaking, the curlier the forks, the more expensive it will be ;)

Good Claud Butlers, from when C.B. was in charge, are very highly valued. I can't see enough detail of yours but the frame alone could easily fetch £200+. If I told you I recently sold a pair of old steel cottered cranks, complete with rust, for £90 you see how it soon adds up.
