V brake calipers, does size matter?

I want to replace V brake calipers in my Specaialized hybrid bike. I bought set on line. The calipers look bigger, meaning longer than the one in the bike.
Does that matter?
Do they come in different sizes?

Does your hybrid have mini-V brakes on it, never compared the 2 side by side but the name suggests they may be smaller.

It is specialised sirus elite. It does not say anything about mini v brake

I could not find any calipers to match the one I had in my bike. Finally replaced with the standard calipers. It is OK.

No difference. Pads make it.
