v-brake blocks

has anybody used brake blocks that are meant for v-brakes (i.e. are longer) on caliper brakes? it's just they've got them in wilko's for £1.95 that look like they are the same fitting as for my bike.

If you can make them fit Bonj I don't see why they shouldn't work. It's not like there are different rims for V-brakes and Canti's.
