I have just bought and Etrex Vista and have bought an SD card with the Scotland Topo on it. From the basic info I have gleaned so far I need to have an SD card if I want to record routes/tracks I have cycled. How do I do this when I already have the Topo SD card in the slot? Is there any way I can load the topo map onto the GPS then insert a blank micro SD?

Here for rides.
there will be loads of spare room on the card with the maps on to record and save your routes on when out on the road. you can then download these to a PC and remove them from the SD.

You can't load the topo or 3rd party maps (big fan of OpenCycleMaps me) on the Vista itself iirc.

I finally managed to get my OpenSourceMaps loaded and then was helped through the method for getting **Routes (with directions) loaded up. It's a bit of a faff but makes for very easy navigation - the GPS beeps to tell you you have a turn in 150m (or whatever distance you set) and shows the direction of turn.

Following a 'breadcrumb' **Track is less set-up hassle but requires more monitoring as you ride.
