a couple of years ago I was given a tub of odds ‘n sods, which belonged to a deceased neighbour. I had a quick rootle and saw that there were some lengths of solder in bar form, some old school calipers, a box of assorted taps and few bits I hadn’t a clue about. I shoved the tub under a bench in the workshop, to be examined further at a later date.
Fast forward to this morning. I’d planned to re-cable an outside light so I needed to lay my hands on a reel of twin and earth which I knew was in a crate under the workshop bench. lo and behold there’s that tub! I got distracted and decided to have another look what it contained.
Look what I found.........
Both taps have left and right hand threads.
Both are stamped “Cyclo”
The larger one is stamped “British” and also “24”
So I guess it’s for cleaning up threads in British BB’s ?
The smaller one fits pedal threads.
I wish I’d realised these were in my workshop earlier
