Hi
Can anyone recommend a USB-rechargeable rear light? Under £30 please.
Thanks

p.s. couldn't find the 'equipment' forum. Has there been a re-shuffle?

Moon Gem 3.0 I had to start with and was very good, good vis, plenty of modes, battery lasted well and charge time was reasonable.
Until I knocked it off on a commute and have never seen it since, now replaced with a Cateye Rapid 1 which seems to be doing the trick so far- the bracket feels a bit cheaper but at least it's still there after a few rides, lots of modes to choose from.
Both very good and paid ~£15 each when I got them.

The Moon Shield is one of the best rear lights you can get: very bright even on its lowest setting. There are two very noticeable flash modes. The battery life is adequate (about 6-7 hours on low, 2 hours on high). If you shop around, it just comes under your price range.

Yep, mine, no idea what the make or model was but if you find it (somewhere on the road in Urmston, probably in many pieces by now) you can have it.

I agree one of the most powerful is moon shield for its size however be careful to use the fastest flashing mode I found drivers were quite aggressive towards me whenever I used that mode.

Great light but the fixing strap on the Blinder is woefully weak - mine snapped after being fitted to the bike less than 48hours... and it hadn't even left the spare bedroom.

Pretty crap IMO for a safety related item. Luckily it didn't fail on a dark road, and I was able to return it for a refund. I'm currently looking at Moon lights - either a comet or a shield

Hmmm, mine hasn't done that so far. Used it 10 times plus on long night rides. It had occurred to me that if the strap breaks the light becomes pretty useless. This point is moot though unless the strap breaks. I will see how it goes but so far so good.

FWIW i use it on 3 different bikes too so plenty of off and on.

Fingers crossed that you're more fortunate than me.

It's a shame as it's a great light especially with the built in USB plug, but lack of a replaceable strap/bracket is the only real minus point IMO

Yup if they had a replaceable strap, and sold it for a fiver or something, it would be a winner. That is assuming that if it breaks the light doesn't get lost in the dark.
