Buying some wheels in next couple of days and as the Cero AR24 are out of stock I was going to buy these:

Wiggle's new offering at an advertised weight of 1485g... Seemed very tempting until my mate told me these were cheaper in the sale...

Now I love Mavics, my old Cosmos wheels are still running true but the weight in the Ksyriums is 1690g.

Am I better buying the tried and tested Mavics or going for the lighter Cosines despite they being an unknown quantity? I'm not fussed you get tyres with the Mavics, they will be getting changed, but I'm totally lost as to which one to get.

Will I even be able to notice the weight difference? My current wheels are 1760g (700 Workshop B'twin at £120).

What would y'all do?

I have a couple of pairs of wheels that I use and the weight difference is about 150g. I can't tell the slightest bit of difference in them. My average speed on the flat with them is to within a gnats cock and the time spent climbing is the same.

No wheel experts then? Lol

I'm gonna have to buy blind then... Thinking of going Mavic.

The Cosines will be fine. If you want them, get them. Presume they will come with some form of warranty anyway. Mavic are nothing special and Zondas look sh*t anyway.

On the basis of a lengthy and ill mannered 'discussion' with a couple of chaps who were typical humourless geeks - ie, they seemed to know what they were talking about but appeared to possess the social and diplomatic skills of the average Millwall fan - the only thing that matters, in terms of weight, is the total 'system weight' - which is to say, the total weight of your bike + the total weight of you. It's hard to see how adding/removing the weight of a small pot of yoghurt to that total is going to make a great deal of difference either way.

Yeah, that's what's made the choice more difficult, that weight isn't the deciding factor. Wonder where this rotational weight is 3x the standing weight stuff comes from?

Researched it all this morning and decided to stick with my current wheelset until the warranty runs out. I'll get as much benefit just having an extra poo before a ride.
