Upgrading to 11 speed

im currently running a bit of a mixed bag, 10speed part ultegra, part 105.

I'm thinking to upgrade to 11speed, ulegra straight through (the groupset seems a good buy at the minute) to change to 11 speed. Would I need new wheels, is the feehub bit swappable on its own?

Would di2 fit on any modern frame - currently trek madone2.1.

Is that frame good enough to warrant the investment. It seems good to me but I've not tried the more recent carbon stuff!

Di2 will fit on any frame, but you might have to run the wires externally.

The 105 11 speed system seems clunky (to me anyway) by comparison with the 10 speed version. I mean to say that is at the front mech end but presumably they have made the chainset and chain somehow more "11 speed"y than "10 speed"y as well.

Anyway my point is, it won't make a blind bit of difference to your riding so either don't bother, or just indulge your every whim.

Almost certainly new wheels; freehub not swappable. Probably not worth it.

if you don't like the mix of components then upgrade the 105 5700 parts for Ultegra 6700 equivalents. Again, it's probably not worth it.

As stated, internal cabling routes will probably not work and external cabling could look pretty bad unless you put a lot of effort in.

The Ultegra 11 speed is way ahead of 105 10 speed. Front Nech being one significant improvement in my experience.

Can understand why 105 11 speed would be clunky in comparison @Cyclist33?

Do you ride both?
