Having learnt what why all goes on Pump, how much pressure do I put in tyres, wheels 700/ 35, bike is for road, about 60 in at moment

70-80psi sounds about right.....but look on the wall of the tyre. There's usually a max figure printed on there.
Yep. Every set of Continental tyres I've owned has had a recommended pressure on the sidewall too - those have usually been spot on, in my experience. Don't exceed the maximum, but experiment with pressures until you find those that provide a nice balance between comfort and speed.
