Unable to inflate Inner tube

Ive got a real stupid question here,

I recently purchased 2x innertubes after having a puncture
now try as i might I am unable to inflate them.

I have just been able to deflate and reinflate my front wheel tyre so that eliminates there being a problem with the pump

what seems to be the problem here apart from me being a complete bell end?

btw they are standard MTB innertube with Schrader valve fresh out of the box

Jammed valve plunger. Give it a good push down with the end of a key or similar to free it up.

You have the right adaptor on yer pump with the sticky outey spike in the middle?

Have you pushed the pump head on far enough?

I think the adaptor on my pump is knackered, it looks like half the "sticky outy" bit in the middle is missing , I shall purchase another one tomorow
