They said on GCN that an ultra sonic cleaning bath was the best way to clean a chain is in an ultra sonic bath. I think I did a pretty good job with Gunk, using a nail brush to scrub, and on the bench. Now Its a bit tricky because I can't use my right arm so I was going to buy an ultra sonic bath, but how big, should it be big enough to fit a chainset into?

In over 30 years, an old oily cotton t-shirt is the best option. No need, even on a MTB.

When we clean carbs out we have to dry them out and coat with oil afterwards to prevent corrosion, they are no magic bullet.

Old metal sweet tin with filled with turps and a stiff brush to agitate it would be my choice..

I have one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00E8K45S6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - I think it's been replaced by a different model? A machine with much small dimensions than this is useless - I can do chainrings but have to run half at a time (half protruding and then turn round)

Excellent - gets all sorts of stuff really clean - chains need extra work though - I run chains in the cleaner and then leave them to soak for a few days in a baking tray of oil to really get into the links.
