Sorry, couldn't share conventionally so snipped it. Pretty amazing feat though.

Impressive. Much of the event is on the speedway which is not in the best condition.
This is the best anyone in my event (515 Miles) has done (all on roads):

BESSIES CREEK SOLO RECORDS

Race Category Name Mileage/Time Year Set

Gulf Coast 515 Male Standard Barry Dickson 25 Hours 2018
47 minutes

Barry was 42 when he set this record.

I am obviously a bit slow today... I was zooming in to the photos to see if he is disabled!

24 mph average for a whole day - wow - I can manage it (admittedly, on a cheap, heavy, non-aero bike) for only about 5 minutes! :notworthy:

these people are utterly astonishing, they have to be made of different stuff to me

there was that Amanda Corker a few years back, world record 86,000 mile in a year, she was riding 12 hours a day, so averaging just over 20mph, 12 hours a day, every day, for a year - I'm so impressed by endurance athletes, far more than I ever am by the well know sports stars in football and tennis etc

Think an Austrian has him beaten though!

According to current records, the furthest distance ridden in 24 hours on a bicycle is 1,026.21 kilometers (637.66 miles), set by Austrian ultra-cyclist Christoph Strasser.

Christoph Strasser (born 4 November 1982 in Leoben, Austria) is an Austrian ultra cyclist who is a six-time winner and record holder for the fastest time in the Race Across America. From 16 to 17 July 2021, he became the first person to ride more than 1,000 kilometres (620 mi) in 24 hours, on a course at Hinterstoisser Air Base [de] in Zeltweg, Austria.

The man is a phenominal rider. It would be disingenuous of me to wonder if these racers weren't gifted with the advantage of special supplements

That's the stat that really blows my mind [and the UK record is close enough to be euqally impressive]. When I speak to local "keen" riders about the 24h events, I tell them:
if you do a ride at - or below - 24mph average, remember that some guy has ssustained that speed for 24 HOURS !!!!
