Ultegra SL chainset/Ultegra 6700

My next bike is going to be a Mercian. The groupset is Ultegra 6700, which I already have. I'm beginning to think the chainset isn't classic looking enough for a retro steel bike and was thinking the Ultegra SL chainset would suit it better.
Is it compatible with the Ultegra 10sp 6700 groupset and uses the same hollowteck II bottom bracket I already have?

Yup. All Hollowtech II chainsets are comptible with one another.

Why not ask the shop supplying your Mercian to sort out a deal for you, they keep the 6700 and fit you the SL one? That way you shouldn't have much extra, (if anything), to shell out

I didn't buy the 6700 from mercian, but some from Wiggle, some from Merlin. Not a problem though as I'd keep the 6700 chainset and use it on my Enigma when that one wears out in years to come.
