Merlin have this for £540 at the moment. I know it's dearer but if you get stung for tax/import duty it won't be any cheaper from the bay.

There is fake everything out there. I very nearly bought a dirt cheap "carbon FSA" seatpost from one of these far east top rated sellers. The price was about a third of over here. Then I read through a lot of, very happy customers but one said, "obviously a fake but great price" - and decided I didn't want to take the risk where the seatpost might snap or damage my carbon frame!

Most bike parts & bikes are actually made in Taiwan anyway - so they are just getting them straight from the factory.

As Paul99 has said, is it worth the risk of customs intercepting & then if any problems dealing or returning things to the far east?

All depends on if you are willing to gamble really!

I was tempted by this but surely must be fake at the price they are selling them for. I play alot of golf and know there a huge number of counterfeit clubs about so probably the same with cycling. I probably wouldn't know if it was fake or not just looking at it, until it snapped in half on me!

Coincidentally I have bought the FSA Gossamer brakes from this guy. They are definitely genuine. If not they are incredible fakes!!

Worth a gamble then?

I'd say so though not really a gamble. No chance of import duties as from EU and if the low chance of being fake - which I really don't think - you should be covered by Ebay / PP but in my experience they are one of the most useless companies to deal with!

I see that Y Frame "discounts" are selling the exact same brakes as I got for £30 for nearer £70 - HUGE discount!

The fact that he takes quite a few pics of the actual product should reassure you. The people selling fakes usually just use a stock image. My brakes took just over 2 weeks to arrive IIRC

Well I looked into it and found that no charges could be applied otherwise I wouldn't have risked it....
