Ui2 Crash Reset Question

So yesterday I punctured and had to do a road side change. I was in fourth gear on the small ring before taking the wheel off, but when putting it back on it would only go on the the 11 cog. Am I assume that I need to a crash reset to get the gears working properly again?

Seems a bit odd, I thought the derailleur needed a right old smack before it went into crash mode. I've had plenty of punctures with my Di2 and ripped out the wheel in various states of huff, but never managed to upset it. Give it a reset and see what happens. It cant do any harm.

Great escape for your lot yesterday.

Certainly was. Would laugh if BFS took them down by two points. Cheers, I'll give the reset a try, if not it'll be off to the LBS tomorrow

It's a good idea to put the chain onto the smallest sprocket before removing the wheel as it makes it easier to replace. That applies to all derailleurs, it's a bit late in this case, but worth bearing in mind.

Can't help with the DI2 specifics I'm afraid. With friction shifters you just shove the gear lever all the way before replacing the wheel.

Another thing just occurred to me. Have you checked the cables to the derailleur? They take some pulling to dislodge (I used the approved tool when fitting the shimano gear/battery transmitter) but it might be possible that you've just caught a cable when you were removing the wheel. If there are no signs of damage, just try giving them a firm shove back in.

Did a crash reset and have all gears now. As Bollo has said he had changed many a wheel without having to do this so somewhat surprised to have to do so.
