I have a Raleigh Venture Pioneer which is as you all know is a touring bike, but I mainly use it for commuting, my question is what is the best tyre (make and size) for this bike as I am due to renew them the size I have is 700c x28.

My Continental 4 seasons have done several thousand miles and I've only had one pu*cture which is good going I reckon. 700c x 28 size. Mainly country roads and cycle path.

+1 the conti 4 seasons are good tyre I fitted them to one of my bikes back in Jan and touch wood (or my head) I've had no p'tures in 1750miles. (mine are 700x25 though) In general giving my experience (positive) of conti tyres, I'll stick to the brand.

As a commuting tyre I would recommend either schwalbe marathon plus or continental sports contacts. Both excellent tyres giving good puncture resistance.
