I have been looking high and low for the past month for a new set of heavy duty (but as light as possible) winter mud + goo tyres, as at the moment i'm using a pair of fast tack LKs that we sitting around in the shed, and IMHO in anything bar the driest of hardpack they seem to be useless.
So... what tyres would everyone recommend for me, not to bothered about rolling resistance as speed isn't my issue - I just want more grip!!!! - ideally the cheapest possible (sub £40 for a set ideally), and if anyone has any that are just to slow for them or wrong shade of black to match their bike, then I would be happy to take them off your hands (as long as they are grippy )!^_^

Here for rides.
The on-one's are british designed for british conditions. How well they deliver? That has to wait until I get around to fitting my pair!

I have a Conti gravity/slash that you could try for a tenner. It has a ramped middle horizontal tread for traction. Heavy ish, but not outrageous.

as long as there still some life in them - pm your details and that sounds good! forget that - just took the plunge for the on-ones

the tread doesn't look that aggressive - how would you rate them in deep gooey mud? eg the lovely British stuff!
Only ridden them twice but am happy with them, had a pair of highrollers on before and i feel the On One tires are a bit better in the mud.

Are the On Ones tubeless ready?
I believe they are - they are made by maxxis so I would think so, I was thinking about running them tubeless in the future (once i'm sure i like them), just don't have the rims suitable for it, would you recommend stans conversion kits?

I have Stans rims on both bikes, but the conversion kits are great if you suffer from pinchflats a lot according to those in the know.
