I have a friend doing her first Ironman triathlon.
The Holy Grail:-
Recommendations please for a fast-rolling tyre with good puncture resistance.
Thanks.

Conti GP4000 or Michelin Pro Race would be the money no object choice, I guess. Schwalbe Ultremo are supposed to be pretty good too, although I've never ridden those (and I should caveat all my remarks by saying that I don't race).

She might be interested in Planet X buy one get one free offer on the folding Schwalbe Stevio too (I've not ridden these, but I liked the wire bead ones I had). Works out at £34 ish for two 23c yellow tyres.

Surely an Ironman triathlete should know what to use through previous shorter events?
The slowtwitchers all recommend the GP4000 and PR2/3.

Probably of more importance is taking enough spares. Chrissie Wellington was very lucky to be given a CO2 cartridge on the way to her second Kona victory. Tubes, gas cartridges and maybe a hand pump for backup.
