Tyres dead after only a couple of years ... normal for modern tyres?

Purveyor of fine nonsense
Observe my vittoria mezcal. It is toast (big crack in it!) It's only two years old, almost to the day (ordered 8th March 2023). I got it with a barzo rear, which has cracked similarly. I've swapped to my springtime wheelset to which I have a pair of schwalbe thunder burt mounted - and they are just beginning to crack on the sidewalls. That's two sets of 'spensive tyres i will be replacing! Hopefully I'll get a season out of the schalbes before binning them. Is this to be expected from tyres nowadays? I.e. they're lightweight, fast, grippy, everything you would want in a tyre except that they have the lifespan of a hamster? At least the tread has worn well! (apart from the giant crack ...)

You should have a manufacture date on the tyre 👍

Where are the wheels/tyres stored. Never had an issue with most road or MTB tyres other than Michelin Pro Race 4's that just perished on a lightly used bike.
