Hi guys,
Hoping you can help!
Recently bought a brand new bike, probably at a cheaper level than most (£100)
Had it 6 weeks now and have had 4 punctures already!!
My wife's bike however was a second hand one (£40) and she's never had any punctures
We do exactly the same routes when cycling together so can't understand how I'm getting all the problems
Is it possible I just have low value tyres on the bike?
It's driving me nuts

Yes. Get some Vittoria Rubinos, well under a tenner

Also check the rims on the wheel that no spoke poking through

It's possible. It's also possible that the tyres are fine and changing them won't make any difference. The problem might also be down to poor rim tape, protruding spokes, burrs on a poorly finished rim, or any number of other issues which would require closer examination to diagnose.

So don't just run out and buy new tyres, as you could be wasting your money. Get it looked at first.

Last 2 punctures have been thorns though, am I just unlucky?

Thanks, again being a newbie I only know they are a size 26 and as you can imagine I've had to buy quite a few inner tubes
Could it possibly be them as I only get the ones from halfords at 3 for a tenner

You can patch the tubes easy.
