Tyre Sizes

Looking to put some road type tyres to replace the knobbly ones that are on an old hybrid bike I've inherited, but I'm a bit confused by tyre sizes - some seem to be in cc's and others in inches.

Its got some 26 x 2.1 knobbly tyres on it (they are cracked and perished), but any idea what is an equivalent size for a road based tyre that would fit the rims?

I swapped my mountain bike tyres to semi slick tyres
The MTB tyre was 26x1.95 swapped them for 26x1.50

If you want to swap for the same size, then this tyre will fit 26x2.0 (shop around and you will find cheaper (just using this as reference)

Thanks for advice - wasn't sure about fitting a thinner tyre, but looks like its pretty standard thing to do
