Tyre rotation on slicks?

On mountain bikes, cars, buses and anything that uses tread on their tyres will also have an arrow on the tyre wall indicating which way it goes onto the rim. Apparantly there is some science which involves tread pattern and the way it disperses water. So what does it matter on slick tyres which way the tyre goes on the rim?

On slicks it don't matter.

On semi-slicks, again it don't matter much, but the tread pattern (facing the right way) helps to channel water away better.

On slicks I find the hessian-like side goes on the inside.
Tried it the other way and it didn't really work for me.
Could get a tubeless and try that ;)

Serious though, any directions fine with a slick.

Car slicks don't have a direction they have to roll but you do need to be careful about mounting them on tyres so the tyres 'pull' is balanced out. My slicks have an arrow on them, a wheel location & pair number for this reason.

Back on topic, direction is only important on bike tyres with a tread to deal with mud/snow. For slicks you can mount them either way round.
