i filled my tyres up about 2 weeks ago and rode about 45 miles and today i went to check the pressures and back was 20psi less and front 10psi less... i do press the valve for a sec to let out air before attaching the pump which than squirts out a little air also.

is this correct of have my tubes got issues?

Its perfectly normal for tyres to lose a few psi in a few weeks and if you've released your a little more air before pumping its even more reasonable. I find my schrader valves don't lose much but the presta valves on my other bikes do. fwiw, I don't let air out before pumping the schrader valve but do with the presta valves.

If I'm doing a longer ride then I check, so they get checked at least twice a week, they may have dropped 5 psi .

It's only a one minute job to inflate them in the garage with a track pump, why not?

I do mine twice a week, and they're noticeably softer by then, in the sense that I can make a very slight indent by pressing hard with my thumb rather than them being rock hard. I pump mine (skinny road tyres) to 110psi.
