Tyre on Turbo uneven wear do I just accept it?

I have a fairly old wired Elite Axiom Turbo trainer, expensive in its day ( I bought it second hand but they were about 999 quid new in 2014)
It is starting to eat the right hand side of tyres in the last 6 months and I am on my second tyre now . They are just unused 23mm from my stock of old tyres.
Its only the right hand side that gets eaten and produces rubber dust, see pictures. I have them pumped to 100 psi and have reduced the pressure on them from 3 full twists on the turbo tensioner to 2 . The bearings on the turbo seem fine and silky so do the wheel bearings with no play in either. Has anyone seen this before and should I just accept that doing up to 2 hrs on a turbo or is something more sinister going on?
I can now feel the tyre "rumble" coming through the pedals and last night my power meter was jumping about on the power readings a bit. I will change the tyre tonight.

Turn the tyre round ?

You'll get twice the time ?

old "non turbo" tyres aren't the best, but you might as well use them up. I like Coughie's suggestion of turning them round to double life

Never had that issue. How rough is the roller ? Do you get and 'slip' if you accelerate hard ? I set my pressure like that. I'm using my road tyres on mine at the moment.

I get that when using a dedicated turbo tyre. A blue one - Specialised??? - I'm debating whether to keep using it. if it was on the road I'd bin it. Gone like that this winter. I'm not overly impressed.
I've a stock of road tyres that I might just use up instead of keep buying so called "proper" turbo tyres.

I've just started seeing the same on our turbo with a standard Schwalbe Marathon road tyre fitted. There are no signs of uneven wear on the tyre itself but there are rubber deposits similar to those in your photo. I was wondering if there was any link with the deposits being on the same side as the drive train and gears?

@fossyant its a elasto gel roller and is smooth. Does generate a lot of heat though.

So is the bike wonky or is it the roller?
That's my question - if one side of the tyre is wearing then the roller is off centre on the tyre when the pressure is being applied. My guess is that assuming the bike is in the trainer properly that there is some play in the bearings the rollers sit on which is causing the roller to skew under pressure.
