A club member yesterday used a special telescopic tyre lever which clipped onto the axle and was used to both remove a tyre and put it back with amazing ease. A tyre, I might add, that I was struggling to replace.
The gizmo was only a light plastic thing that collapsed to about the size of a regular lever.
Does anyone know what this is called and where I could buy one.

Var IIRC.

Its a Crank Brothers speed lever. I had one for a while they are very good but being plastic the end eventualy wears and in some cases snaps and they can be a little tricky if the tyre is tight to the rim. I stopped using them after I broke two of them (one just where the end wore down). Having said that it is a great invention just wish there was an steel ended equivelent
