tyre lever snapped any substitute I can use?

Trying to swap tyres around on my two bikes and damn the gatorskin tyres are so hard to take off literally snapped one of the tyre levers the second one I put in. Would appreciate any other substitutes I could maybe use. Watched a few vids on tyre replacement and they make it look so easy...

The amount of force i need would bend them.

Blunt end of cutlery does same thing as a tyre lever.

I don't think it would. Make sure you are only nipping the bead of the tyre and don't get too greedy when selecting where to insert your second spoon. Works a treat even with gatorskins.

Yep or you have possibly not got the rim sat in deep enough at the bottom of the wheel.

As a kid i used a flat ended screwdriver. Had to make do. Never once pinched an inner tube. Never once snapped a tyre lever though.

I used them too. Tyre levers were a revelation to me, in my mid-late teens. I had no idea there was a proper tool for the job.

And me. I learnt about the proper tool for the job at about the same age as Saluki.

My Dad taught me with spoons as a kid, I didn't know dedicated levers existed until I was about 17.

Nope, used to be the thing in the 70/80s as kids

My dad taught me to use spoons when I was about 12.
Mind you - That was in the day when spoons were real spoons.
I must admit that I now have a set of Park Tool tyre levers.
