Hi guys looking to do the callander to killin in May for cystic fibrosis in May.I was wondering if anyone has done this route and what tyres you can get away with eg - road tyre 28c, marathon plus 28c or a treking tyre 28c or is something bigger needed.I believe it is a sort of mixture of gravel paths and roads, but if anyone can enlighten me to this route it would be highly appreciated thanks

There was some mention of that cycle path in the Scottish Bike Show Sportive thread a while ago. I think it was the same stretch your ride takes. Someone mentioned on FB they wouldn't take a road bike with 23c tyres on it.

Looking at this website, the pic on the bottom I'd be reluctant to take a bike with anything less than 28s on.

Hi Tomba thanks for getting back to me, I was basically wondering if it could be done with armidillo elite and panaracer ribmo 28c or would i need to fit more rebust tyres like marathon plus 32c or cyclecross tyres. The reason being the 28c tyres allows you to do the course quicker or does the course require a more mtb tyre
