Hi all,
Ive been reading into reviews of tyres for a while now and have gone through a few myself on my bikes aswell and need a little advice over the 'right' tyre for me.
Firstly, i have two bikes (which id like to run the same tyre on). One is a geared carbon road bike and the other is a track framed fixed wheel bike (skidding will be done on this). Id like to run a 23c tyres on both bikes. Both will be used for commuting 30 miles a day to central london, on bumpy roads.
Id like to run red and blue coloured tyres if i can be picky and ones that feel grippy and 'roll well' (sorry to use that term). This would therefore rule out the marathon plus tyre.
My aim is to buy a number of tyres (around 12) and get a good knockdown on price.
My currently favourite tyres are my Michelin Axial Pros, but these have puntured twice within a week and are not resistant against punctures. I am torn between the Conti GP4000 tyres and the budget Schwalbe (e.g. Lugano). I currently also have gatorskins, which have run well so far (1 puncture after 1500 miles).
Has anyone used the Schwalbe lower range tyres for regular commutes/high mileage and if so how did they hold up?
