Tyre comparisons?

I'm still looking into getting some more road orientated tyres for my mtb as most of my miles - at least initially - will be on paths / roads.

I have seen these 2 tyres, I am keen to do some miles on canal/grit paths, just not 'offroad' initially. Which would you recommend? (I'm also looking to use a turbo trainer with these tyres... so want something that won't scare the neighbours as i cycle in my garage!).

I have used the Gatorskins on my hybrid for commuting for a couple of years now, and I love them!

They're almost completely slick so shouldn't be a problem on the trainer. The p*ncture protetion is good, but not up to marathon+ levels, I've have a few p*nctures over the years on them, but I was getting up to 3 or 4 a week (really ) on tyres with no protection!

I use gators and next time i will be looking ta scwable durano plus as they have a thicker protection layer very similar to marathon plus.

I found the gators can get bits embedded in them so i need something with a thicker tread to stop it digging into the tyre before i can get home.
