Hi Guys,

i have a specialized crosstrail and i was wondering if i can change my tyres from a 700x38 to a 700x28 remembering that the original tyres were 700x45

would i have to change the wheels and would that make a difference to the whole bike

28mm tyres will provide a harsh ride for little increase in performance - particularly if you have an upright riding position. I'd settle for 32mm.

Thanks Mickle,

Just a thought and trying to get that little bit extra speed whilst learning all about bikes

Also Mickle,

would it be worth changing my front suspension forks for rigid forks as the suspension is turned off 95% of the time so was wondering if non suspension front forks would make any difference also
