Tyre Advice please

After riding my vintage Raleigh city to work for a couple of weeks yesterday I took my mountain bike as the weather was a bit iffy, wow it was so much harder to ride. Ive now decided Im going to fir my mountain bike with some Swalbe city jets. here's the question. the tyres on my mountain bike are 26x2.10 the city jets I can find on ebay have the nearest measurment of 26x1.95 will these fit ok ?

Personally if you are riding mostly on the road then I would go as low as 1.5 which "should" fit Ok, Chain reaction have them for

I did what your proposing - 26 x 1.5 fit just fine and makes the world of difference on roads. Just be careful on gravel/dirt tracks as the city jets don't cope well with loose surfaces

I put 26 x 1.5 road tyres on my hard tail mountain bike worked a treat still a bugger to ride tho.

Just fitted 1.5 to our mtbs ready for our Amsterdam trip.

Thanks for the replies. I fitted some today and cycled to work, what a difference, especially on the hill on the way home , I wish Id done it sooner,
