Well it's Friday and I thought I'd share a snippet from my Medical Report from the independant consultant with regards to my accident in 2008 - might just make you smile.

This note is in my official medical records after I had a shoulder decompression on 15/2/2011

Notes:-

18.2.2011 "Fossy" was seen by an extended scope practitioner after his surgery (3 days later - just a checkup for infections and stuff). I note the patient was keen to get back on his bike which was fixed up in his garage on tracks

(Consultant added I assume this is a static mounted training bike  ).

Blimey - there is no helping us - this is in my medical records.

It's better than the note from the previous year that states 'his injury must be slight as he still does heavy duty cycling' - this was after receiving an injection and asking if I'd be OK to ride to work the next day, and then do a Cycle Chat track session after work

The medical profession must think cyclists are nut cases !

Broke my arm, got the plaster put on , went to put the bike away and ended up just riding round my village, wife saw me, I got one of those looks.

I broke my leg a couple of days before we were due to bike from Holland to England. GF and son left me at home. I was so jealous that a week later I joined them on their way back and spent three days biking home with my leg in a plaster cast.

Here for rides.
broke my ankle, met my GP up at school collecting the kids, she suggested I wrap it in clingfilm in case it got wet riding home in the rain.

Broke a bone in my hand, asked the consultant how long before I could ride again and got told 'as soon as you can cope with the pain, the earlier you use it, the quicker it will heal' - nice man.

Definitely, small movements between the two end so the bone and load bearing accelerate healing. Informed nice man!

I had an injury to "my little soldier" (I sleep naked and a cat decided to scratch me). I went to casualty to get it sorted and asked "How long before I am back in the saddle?" I failed to see the double entendre until it was too late
