two spokes broken - one on each wheel

Broke on the same ride, roughly the same time.

I've been quoted £40 to replace these (alloy pro lite gavias, so a decent set of wheels). I have previously had a spoke go on the front wheel a while back.

Should I get all the spokes loosened and the wheel "rebuilt" to prevent further snapping?

Does anyone recommend anywhere/anyone in Lancaster?

I can't afford for the spokes to go on this again, I just don't have the money to repair it again. With that in mind, what would be the most economical route?

Just for a bit of info, the rear spoke went non drive side, nipple end. the front spoke broke at the elbow. Planning on going to the edgework cycles in lancaster as they have been well recommended, but if people have good experiences of other shops then I am open to recommendations!

I would say yes to the "rebuild" if it doesn't cost too much (do you have spare spokes? Buy a handful if not). BTW, I was warned off of Gavia wheels by the club racing secretary as he knows someone who had to sell up on the Gavia wheels due to constantly pinging spokes.

As with most wheels though, someone always knows someone who had no end of troubles with that particular model, so this is probably just a case of that.

If you just break one spoke the rebuilding needed is minimal - can't you do this yourself?

If you can get the spokes I'd be happy to have a go at rebuilding these for you when you get back down this way again, or guide you through the process if you want to learn for yourself..... but my experience is limited to 36 and 32 spokers, so you may prefer to go wiith a pro job.

Got those things - no idea if they work or not but they look cool! I'm just worrying that 2 spokes seemed to go at once, one in either wheel. It seems like more than a coincidence of bad luck! Hence the desire for a full rebuild.

Cheers Pete! I am going to try and get them sorted before I head back down south as I have a bit of racing to do up here. Legs are feeling good, just need the bike to behave! Looking to put in lots of miles over the Easter break though if you fancy a ride, we can chat about it nearer that time!
