I've got a pair of the roller Ortlieb panniers and I was wondering...

Is there a way to somehow lock the panniers on the rack, to avoid someone just lifting them? I know there isn't much you can do with panniers, as someone can always open them and take the content. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how not to be paranoid about losing them while in a shop or something.

My other question is about those bulky screws in the inside of the bags. I will be carrying a little netbook which easily fits inside, but it will definitely get crashed against the screws that are sticking out. If put the netbook in a harder case, or place something solid in between, I'll lose much of the pannier's capacity. Has anyone faced the same problem and figure out a way to overcome it?

thank you

You get something like these to lock the panniers to the rack

I've never has a problem with the screws inside my panniers the covers prevent problems but i don't carry a notebook.

I see Ortleib have ddeveloped this to protect notebooks

Yes that's what I need, but can't find it in the shops here in London and I don't think I have time to order them online as I am off on Tuesday.

Wiggle has them in stock and I've always found things from them arrive the next day.

Yeah it does say it on the site. I just emailed them and asked them to confirm that I will get it by Monday. Pity they don't have a phone number to call them.

I've ordered things from them in the last few weeks and it's always been the case.

so you say I should go for it.
Maybe I should, it's only 8 pounds
Do you know if these cables will be compatible for the Ortlieb Back Roller Classic Panniers.
I downloaded the instructions and where the cable attaches with the pannier looks a little different than mine. It doesn't seem I can unscrew just the end bits.
