I've just created a Twitter account (on behalf of my band, you understand). Anyone got any tips on how to use it? Or is it just another site for detailing the tedious minutiae of your everyday life for the benefit of people who aren't interested and are anxious only to talk about their own lives?

People use it all sorts of ways. I'm not a fan of the "I've just eaten my brekkie" type of post, so I try and follow people who point out progress on projects I'm interested in, or blog/web stuff I might have missed. There's lots of bike stuff on there (VeloNews, Carton Reid from BikeBiz, David from the fredcast, even goo_mason ;) )

It´s rather to early to tell! I have no use for it but other people seem to get something out of it. It can be mundane, but then again it can be the haiku form of blogging...

We were recommended to sign up by the powers that be at work. It's quite interesting, and seems like it could be quite useful if you find the right people to follow

It's certainly got the potential to be more useful than facebook, which is great, but is little more than a big photo album and address book now.

The saying is, facebook is the people you used to know, twitter is the people you want to know....

I'm on it. Bit baffled by it though tbh.

How do you get followers? Do you have to recruit twelve disciples and then the followers all just, well, follow?
