Newbie question number two.

I recently got a new bike which has Twist grip gear change (Sram X4). Frankly, I don't think much of the gear change. It seems to be innaccurate and sometimes oversensitive....if I'm not careful I can nudge it and it changes gear when I don't want it to.

I may be wrong and perhaps I should persevere with it a bit more. Maybe when everything is bedded in properly it will be OK, but my instinct is to get some proper (i.e trigger) shifters.

Any comments?

Grip shifters work and are better than nothing but you are finding the problems, another one I found when I had a bike with grip shifters was the inside of my thumb and fore finger would be worn red raw often. If upgrading to trigger shifter is an option its certainly worth doing IMO, just for the comfort factor alone.
