A few questions before I treat myself with one before christmas....

1. Do they fit all bikes, or do you need to have specific spindels etc...
2. Can 27 and 1/4 inch wheels be used or is 700c required
3. is magnetic quieter than fluid and fan?

Thanks

I speak only from experience with Tacx.

1) It came with a special skewer long enough for 130mm and 135mm oln. Track nuts are also available.
2) Mine certainly came with an adapter for 26" wheels and should be enough adjustment by the unit to fit a 27 1/4 wheel (only 8mm greater rim diameter).
3) No idea - theoretically the only noise on fluid and magnetic trainers should come from the drivetrain and the wheel's contact with the drum. I've been told that some fluid turbos suffer from a drop off in resistance when used for a sustained length of time as the fluid heats up.

I have a Cycleops and again can only answer for them

1) they come with a skewer the same as Tacx
2) yes they can but with an additional adapter
3) the fan is a lot noiser, mine is magnetic and is almost silent. the noise the chain makes is loader than the unit

Hope this helps
