What would this turbo be like for a first turbo trainer... is it any good/is there anything better for this price range??

I'm watching this with interest as I'm goig to be buying a turbo at around this price range in a couple of weeks time...

Sorry to hijack a bit, but just how quiet are the mag ones? Is it worth shelling out a bit more for the fluid/gel ones?

At that price you should be able to get a turbo that gives several levels of resistance - more adaptable for a better range of workouts.

Yeh on CRC Ive ordered this turbo but with a shift lever which will later the magnetic resistance, only 10 quid more.. was 120 I think

Maybe I'm out of touch with prices generally, but trainers don't half seem expensive, for a few bits of metal tubing and a couple of bolts.

I would like one, and don't care how noisey it is, so any ideas for a cheapo version?

Get yourself a cheap, heavy second-hand bike out of the local rag.

10 minutes on a turbo trainer is LONGER than 10 minutes riding to the next village.
