Which Shire are you in? if its Cambrigeshire that was one morning in January
I'm not experienced enough on various models of trainers myself but my Taxc Speedmatic did the job. I think you can spend more money and get quieter though.

I bought one yesterday. Its a gist magnetic, not sure of its age.
Seems pretty quiet outside on the patio, but I imagine it would be a lot noisier inside on the living room floor.
I can't try it as my busybody old bag next door will report me to environmental health again for making too much noise.
Shame when I told her I had bought a drum kit, I forget to mention it was a silent electronic one, yet she still managed to hear "excessive drumming all night" and complained. The EH officer's face was a picture when I invited him round to see my drumkit in person.
