Turbo trainer without wheel

Considering a new turbo trainer, ive always found them noisy before now.

I remember seeing one were you removed the back wheel, i thought this may be quieter, has anyone used one? any feedback or links to were i could find one, thanks

TBH, the sound of the resistance unit is louder than the tyre on the roller IME. Those things sound just as loud as my Cyclops Fluid 2 based on both of those videos.

The Lemond trainer is LOUD.

Other option is a Computrainer / Velotron, but I don't know if they're much quieter than the likes of a Fluid 2 either.
