I have got a turbo trainer and i do know they are great for killing your rear tyre. I have a carrera TDF and was wondering what sort of 700c wheel i can use and what cassette to get for it so it would work with my carrera tdf

Also cheapest place to get these.

Thanks

Just as a comparison, I dont run a turbo specific tyre or wheel, just whats on the bike...no problems whatsoever. No excess heat or wear, nothing, with a Gatorskin BTW, for the last three years.
id hope to spend an hour at a time on the turbo, but admittedly I dont hammer it, I just find a nice pace and use it to keep fitness, not to increase it.

I do have gators on my bike at the moment but i was going to use it more for interval training rather than just cycling on it. How come i will need a derailleur? lol

Why do you have to completely change the wheel?

Just buy a cheap tyre and fit it to your wheel, or just use your current and replace when it wears out?

i use my bike outdoors n commute, aswell as the tyres are new. so i wanted to have a turbo training tyre for when i use my TT. instead of replacing tyres every time i want to use it ill just change the rear wheel
