turbo quick release question

Mrs Celine wants to buy me a turbo for Xmas. My Sunday bike won't be any use for this as it's undergoing it's winter overhaul and the commuter is currently seeing enough regular use.
I've got a currently unused bike in the shed but it doesn't have a quick release on the rear axle. It's has a 7 speed suntour splined cassette (obsolete) which is incompatible with any of the other wheels I've got lying around.
Can this be used in a turbo, or do all turbos have to be used with a quick release?

If the cups on the turbo fit over the nuts why not? I did it for long enough
