hi to all

i have just registered onto the site so a big hello to everyone and I`ll get striaght in as I need to ask a question.

i`m havin real trouble putting tyres on my campag wheels (old neutrons, brilliant hoops!) I normally use michelin but i swear newer versions are made slightly smaller. I`ve also tried Conti`s. Has anyone else had this problem and can anyone recommend a decent tyre that will go on without the need for 2- 3 levers (yes , 2-3 levers) and therefore prevent pinch punctures.

Hallo and welcome

I think you will get more answers to your question if you ask it in beginners, this area really is just for saying hello...

If you start to put the tyre on opposite the valve - and finish at the valve, it will go on easier. This is because the tyre bead can drop into the well of the rim where there is no valve to cause an obstruction.

Run a smear of fairy liquid around the tyre beads - it will help the tyre seat correctly when you pump it up.

thanks for all the advice but what I`m really after is the name of a good racing/training tyre which doesn`t require those pesky levers only a couple of thumbs to put the tyre back on after a puncture etc. As I said, I have this problem with only my Campag Nuetron and Proton wheels.
